CALM, CONFIDENT PARENTING STARTS HERE

If mornings have become a battle, nobody seems to be listening, school is getting difficult, or you simply have a feeling that something isn’t quite working, you’re in the right place.

Hi, I’m Josie.

I’m a parenting coach, Montessori-trained teacher and mum of three, with over 18 years’ experience working with children, parents, families and schools.

I help parents understand what’s really going on underneath their child’s behaviour, so they can stop second-guessing themselves and feel clearer about what to do next.

Sometimes you don’t need another parenting tip.

Because when you’re right in the middle of family life, it can be incredibly difficult to see what is actually going on.

Sometimes you don’t need more advice.

You need someone you trust to help you make sense of it.

Someone who understands children.

Someone who understands parents.

And someone who can help you work out what to do next.

You’ve read the books.

You’ve listened to the podcasts.

You’ve tried being firmer. Softer. More consistent. Less reactive.

And you may still be wondering:

Am I doing the right thing?

Behaviour is communication.

When your child keeps doing something that is driving everyone mad, it is very easy to focus on how to stop it.

But often the more useful question is:

Why is this happening?

What is your child finding difficult?

What are they trying to communicate?

Is something going on at home, at school or emotionally that hasn’t quite been spotted yet?

Understanding the reason behind behaviour doesn’t mean having no boundaries. Children need boundaries.

But once you understand what is driving the behaviour, it becomes much easier to respond in a way that actually helps.

And that is often where things begin to change.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

Parenting has a habit of making you feel as though you have finally worked something out, only for something completely new to appear.

A new behaviour. A difficult friendship. Anxiety. School refusal. Big emotions. Sibling conflict.

A child who suddenly seems completely different. You don’t need to pretend everything is fine, and you don’t need to make yourself sound like a better parent than you are.

You can tell me what is actually happening.

I’ve worked with hundreds of families over the years, privately, alongside schools and in family homes in the UK and abroad.

I’m also a mum of three. I’m not a perfect parent and my children are definitely not perfectly behaved.

There is no judgement here. And you are unlikely to shock me.

THE INNER CIRCLE

〰️ THE INNER CIRCLE

The easiest place to start?

THE INNER CIRCLE

I created The Inner Circle because so many parenting problems don’t need a huge intervention. Sometimes you simply need to be able to ask:

“Is this normal?”

“Why is she suddenly doing this?”

“Am I making this worse?”

“What would you do here?”

The Inner Circle gives you ongoing access to my support, experience and way of thinking through parenting problems.

You can bring the things you’re unsure about, join the live Q&As and learn from the questions other parents ask too.

Inside you’ll find:

✓ Live parenting Q&A and coaching sessions

✓ A growing library of parenting videos and resources

✓ Practical help for the situations you are dealing with now

✓ A private community of parents who understand real family life

✓ Somewhere trusted to turn when a new problem appears

But perhaps the biggest benefit is simply knowing you don’t have to spend weeks worrying about whether you are doing the right thing.

You have somewhere useful to take the question.

Sometimes you need more support.

1:1 Parenting Support

If something has been going on for a while, we can work together privately to understand what is happening and decide what might help.

Family Intensives

Sometimes the things that are hardest at home are also the hardest to explain afterwards. Family Intensives allow me to spend time with your family, see what is happening first-hand and help you understand the patterns that are difficult to spot when you’re living inside them.

SCHOOLS

When difficulties are showing up at school, I also work with schools and families to help the adults around a child better understand what may be sitting underneath their behaviour.

What parents say…

“Josie's sessions transform, whether you're looking to deal with a specific issue, or like us, just do things right from the beginning. Reading a book will give you the knowledge, but it's only until you do her sessions that you really appreciate the interpretation and situational insight that Josie brings.”

Mark Birri, dad of two

Our family unit has definitely grown stronger by parenting in a more understanding and connected way. We have become calmer, with greater perspective which enables us to utilise the methods. I have definitely seen progress, which I didn’t believe was possible! The deeper understanding I now have of my children is an epiphany!

 Sandra Phillips, mum of three

“Clear communication and rigorous analysis distinguished the team from prior vendors we engaged.”

Parenting isn’t about getting everything right.

Of course you want the mornings to be easier.

You want fewer arguments.

You want your child to listen.

You want to know whether you are handling things well.

But underneath all of that is something even more important.

You want to understand your child.

You want them to feel understood by you.And you want to stay connected to them as they grow.

You will not get every parenting decision right. Nobody does.

But when you understand what is happening beneath the behaviour, it becomes much easier to respond with confidence instead of constantly questioning yourself.

That is the work I help parents do.

And if you would like me in your corner, The Inner Circle is a very good place to start.
