Positive Parenting Camp

  • Bishopsgate School, (Windsor Great Park) Bishopsgate Road Egham, TW20 0YJ UK (map)

This is a one day experience for you and your child (3 - 13 years).

“Make the time to play, give your child your day!”

I have been a parent for 12 years, a montessori teacher, an ofsted outstanding childminder and a parenting coach for a combined 30 years and have never seen anything offered quite like this. To say I’m excited is an understatement!

The idea of the day is to have fun and build a deeper connection with your child. Your child will thrive, having you to themselves, having fun, learning and playing with you and I promise you will too! I want to offer practical outdoor parent and child sessions using some simple and fun tasks to facilitate play and interaction between parent and child.

This is so much more than a fun day out in a glorious setting. This day is made for you as the parent and for your child, every possible detail has been thought of to make this day a unique experience.

Lives are busy, there’s no getting around it that’s why this day can only be offered to one child and one parent to experience the day properly. 2 children are welcome with two parents, or one parent can come over the three days with different children. 121 connection time is the key.

The Fun Bit the Activities

The day is set in the most magical setting. Please look here for a video created.

Josie on Instagram: "Now this is something I’m excited about! Positive Parenting Camp baby!!!! I wanted to create a day which is one of connection between…"

Each station will have a card to explain the task to the child which can be read and discussed together. The reverse of the card will explain to the parent the nature of task, the objectives for both parent and child, offer suggestions of appropriate language plus hints and tips on guiding their child through the activity.  All activities have varying complexities to suit all age children 3-13 years. (Happily tried and tested by my three!)

Fire lighting

Animal shelter building

Hand printed/painted tote bags

Hard as nails hedgehog using a hammer and nails

Raft making of mini boats

Wood cutting/ Key Ring making

Mud kitchen and woodland bistro

Den building

Hot chocolate making

If a child does not want to do an activity, they can select an alternative one of digging, mud painting, bug hunting, crafts in the cabin.

Communication, laughter, encouragement, listening, even patience (fire lighting can be frustrating as my three experienced) are some of the results of this experience and perfect opportunities to deepen that connection with your child. I will there helping you facilitate all of those normal every day niggles, listening, turn taking, power struggles., on hand through out the day to offer support, insight and encouragement, often 1:2:1 with parents.

David who PPWJ is teaming up with, is an amazing outdoor learning teacher and Nicola an experienced outdoor learning assistant together will be facilitating the activities as well as offering help, advice and guidance to parents and children. The trio running this day are all about your experience being unique and impactful.
